Sunday, August 1st, 2010

The political views of Italy are consisting of parliamentary, democratic republic, and of a multi-party system. Executive power is exercised jointly by the Council of Ministers, which is ruled by the President of the Council, in slang referred to as “primo ministro”, “premier” or “prime minister” in English. Legislative power is divided in two houses of parliament primarily and secondarily on the Council of Ministers. The judiciary is autonomous from other branches namely: the executive and the legislative branches. Italy has been a democratic republic since 2 June 1946, when the monarchy was eradicated by accepted referendum.
