Political scenario in Italy

The structure of Italian politics is somewhat similar to the one in India. There are two political parties who contest each other in the elections and the head of the winning party is sworn in as prime minister by the president who also selects the council of ministers. Each party serves a seven year term and hence Italian politics can be termed as a democracy.
