Italian government is the collaboration of multiple parties who join hands for a successful leadership. 1990’s transformation of politics has lead to this reform where parties of varied ideals and views join hands for a common government. Evolution has been a pattern of Italian politics, vanishing of old parties has given way to the creation of new ones. This evolution has just left Italian politics with two majors center right and center left over the other less famous parties.

Italian Politics Are No Joke
The Italians are seen in many ways, largely thanks to stereotyping. There is a joke that claims Italians change their government as often as they change their socks. Italian made appliances, while beautiful, are prone to breaking easily and to have them repaired will often cost more than your original purchase price. American politicians will work themselves up over what Michelle Obama is dressed in, while in Italy Silvio Berlusconi’s wife is going public about his alleged romps with an 18 year old girl.

Introduction To Italian Politics
Italian politics is a democracy that consists of multiple parties elected into positions in parliament. Legislation is in the power of two houses of parliament, and council of ministers. The birth of Italian politics began when the monarchy was eliminated by a referendum in 1948. At that time the King of Italy was replaced with a President. The President is elected and serves a seven year term. He in turn appoints the council of ministers and Prime Minister.
